In a nutshell, there are only three types of betting:

•	Flat Betting: This is merely betting the same amount every single time.
For example, if you’re at a $5 table, you might decide to bet one unit, or $5, and stick with it, win or lose.

•	Negative Progression: This is an “up as you lose” method of betting that
sees you raising your bets each time you lose, hoping to recoup some or all of your previous losses. This type is financial suicide and will destroy your bankroll in addition to your sanity. I talk more about these systems in post 13.

•	Positive Progression: This is an “up as you win” style of betting. Instead
of betting more when you lose, you bet more only when you win, taking
advantage of a winning trend. This is, without question, the best way to
bet. Each table game is unique, so betting should be approached slightly
differently for each. The posts for each game discuss in detail how and
when to bet.

Try theses techniques at the top online casinos.

THE NEW YORK PROGRESSION
The absolute best positive progression method I know and use is called the New York progression, so named because of the New York City area code 212. Start by betting two units as your base bet, each unit being whatever you decided was your absolute minimum bet. So if you’re at a $5 minimum table, your first bet would be $10. If you win, you lock up some money by lowering your next bet to one unit, or $5. That way you’re guaranteed a profit. If you win that bet as well, you take it back up to $10 in hopes of catching a winning streak and then continue with the following progression: 2, 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and so on. If you lose any bet, you return or continue your base bet of two units.

I’ve seen players employ every kind of superstition - rubbing a rabbit’s foot, making the sign of a cross, kissing photographs of their children, and so on. Sometimes they work, other times they don’t. When you step into a casino, everything you need to know about luck boils down to good trends and bad trends.

And the only way you’re ever going to win at a casino is to find and then exploit good trends when they come along. But you also need to be able to identify losing trends so you can cut your losses and get out of Dodge. Remember: Trends are your friends. In the posts to come, I’ll tell you how to identify tables and slot machines that are likely to produce winning streaks - good trends. I’ll also show the warning signs of bad trends so you’ll know how to avoid them.

Online gambling gives you great fun any time and place you wish.

MONEY MANAGEMENT

Once you’ve found a hot trend, how do you go about exploiting it? That’s where money management comes in. And I’m not talking about balancing your checksite. I’m talking about how much you bet and how you bet it. The math weenies say that it doesn’t matter how you bet… in the long run. But that’s just stupid. Of course it matters how you bet. Most people play by their gut. And when you consider that new casinos are sprouting up all over the country, it’s clear the gut doesn’t have a clue.
